This committee would develop a Traveling Workshop strand
on Development Mathematics, sharing best practices for training
and mentoring faculty, collect and share syllabi from other
developmental courses, identify programs designed to ease
the transition from high school to college mathematics, develop
better connections with other professional organizations,
increase involvement with national policy-making boards on
issues relating to developmental mathematics, and provide
current resources to address needs identified by the DMC membership.

Health areas, Business Tech areas, Information Tech areas,
Emerging tech areas, Trades, etc. Topics the committee might
work with include: Transfer of Engineering Tech math courses
and Math needs for students in the health areas. The committee
may provide example programs from some of the areas and provide
good themed short session on these areas.

The focus of the group would be to concentrate on courses
past the developmental/foundations level. Such courses may
lead to AA or AS degrees, be used as transfer credit, or be
taken for student enrichment. Possible subgroups would be:
College Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus,
Differential Equations, Linear Algebra.

Research in Mathematics Education
for Two-Year Colleges Committee (http://research.amatyc.org)
The purpose of the Research in Mathematics Education for
Two-Year Colleges (RMETYC) Committee is to encourage quality
research in mathematics education in two-year colleges. RMETYC
will provide organizational support and mentoring for faculty
researchers and institutions conducting research in mathematics
education and its application in promoting effective teaching
strategies. RMETYC will also provide support for the dissemination
of findings and results emerging from research conducted with
two-year colleges.
